Lent Day 2
John 7:37
Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
This is an invitation
from Jesus to everyone, to join Him in relationship to receive His grace,
mercy, love and forgiveness. Just as our
bodies have a hunger and thirst for food and water, our souls have a hunger and
thirst for spiritual needs.
Psalm 42:1-2
As a deer pants for flowing streams, so
pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
Jesus is the
source to fulfill that spiritual need and He is calling us to Him. “Come to me and drink.”
To come to
Jesus we have to spend time with Him to know Him and believe in who He is,
study His word, spend time in prayer, listen for His direction, learn to trust
in what He says and continually pursue our relationship with Him.
John
4:14:
“but whoever drinks
the water I give them will never thirst.
Indeed the water I give them will become in them a spring of water
welling up to eternal life.”
This is a
promise to us from Jesus, that if we come to Him, our deepest spiritual needs
will be satisfied forever.
What are you
doing today to come to Jesus? Are you keeping your focus on Him?
Grace and
Peace to All,
LeAnn
