Women of Hillside's Shop for Mom Program

Shop for Mom is an event for the children and mothers who live at a family violence center.  Gift items are collected at  Hillside, and volunteers provide  shopping and wrapping  help  so that the children may "shop" for their moms at the event,  which takes place at the Center in early December. In addition to shopping, children make crafts, get snacks, and have pictures taken and framed. Their mothers also have a special adult craft activity. Children leave with a shopping bag full of wrapped gifts for mom. Volunteers leave with smiles and memories of sharing the love of Jesus with these precious ones! Volunteers are needed the day of the event and earlier to help with preparations! We serve about one hundred children so lots of help is needed.

You may help by collecting gift items throughout the year (wrapping paper/bags, jewelry, purses, lotions, candles, home decor, anything a mom would enjoy). In the Fall there will be information about when and where to leave your donations at the church.

At the Cherokee Family Violence Center, volunteers help the children shop, wrap, get snacks, make crafts, and get photos taken and framed.
