Lent Day 13

Ephesians 3:20

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,

according to the power at work within us.

God is able.  The Greek word for able, Dynamai, means to have the power to do something by virtue of one’s own ability and resources.  To be capable, to possess the skill or competence needed or to be sufficiently powerful. (Key Word Study Bible).   God is able in all situations.  He has the knowledge to know what to do, He has the confidence to do it, He has the ability and the power to do it and see it through.   Here are a few things to consider God is able to do.

God is able to create something out of nothing

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life and the man became a living creature.  Genesis 2:7

God is able to save us

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25

God is able to bless us abundantly

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.  2 Corinthians 9:8

God is able to keep us from stumbling.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blame-less before the presence of His glory with great joy.   Jude 24

God is able to help us rise above trials

God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.  1 Corinthians 10:13

God is able to help us when being tempted

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Hebrews 2:18

God is able to strengthen us

Now to Him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, Romans 6:25

 God is able to comfort us

Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any pain, with the comfort with which we are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:4

God is able to exceed your expectation

The Lord is able to give you much more than this.  2 Chronicles 25:9

 God is able to fulfill His promises

Entirely convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.  Romans 4:21

 God is able to do all of this in our lives.  Not only is He perfectly capable,  but also willing to give it to those that belief and follow Him.  Spend time with Him and allow Him to do something unimaginable in your life.
